Los Angeles Will Now Fine People for Throwing Frisbees or Footballs on the Beach?
The city of Los Angeles just found a way to ruin millions of people's trips to the beach this summer. Gotta love micromanaging government.
--The L.A. Board of Supervisors just decided to issue FINES to anyone who's caught throwing a FRISBEE or a FOOTBALL on any beach in L.A. County.
--Officially, the rule now prohibits, quote, "any person to cast, toss, throw, kick, or roll" any object other than a beach ball or volleyball on the beach between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
--First-time offenders will be hit with a $100 fine, the second time it's a $200 fine, and for three or more offenses it's a $500 fine.
--They SAY this is a safety measure and not just a desperate cash grab. I'm not exactly sure how volleyballs are safer than Frisbees and footballs, but whatever.
--The new rules ALSO prohibit anyone from digging a hole in the sand deeper than 18 inches, so if you're in L.A., make sure your kids don't get fined for making sand castles.
